Lalit Modi in trouble after I-T Raid at the IPL Office

IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi is in deep trouble following the Income Tax (I-T) raid at the IPL Headquarters and his office in Mumbai. The I-T sleuths termed it as a routine affair and not a raid.

Lalit Modi was quizzed about the bidding process and ownership of all IPL teams. The Income Tax officials will look at the bidding process of the IPL and the source of funding too.

The Income Tax department has reportedly sought Rs 120 crore as advance tax. The Income Tax probe may end Lalit Modi's clout within the IPL.

According to media reports, the BCCI may intervene soon to clip Modi's wings and appoint its own representative to look into the operations of the Twenty20 leauge.
